Ofsted Success!
Our last Ofsted inspection was in June 2019, so we are expecting to be visited again this year. After our last inspection, this is what we posted here:
We are all celebrating our success after Ofsted rated us ‘Good’ overall with ‘Outstanding’ Early Years provision! In our first inspection since joining the Synergy Multi-Academy Trust, Ofsted have noted that our “Leaders have substantially improved the quality of education.”
Our Chair of Governors, Dr Natasha Hutcheson, is delighted. She explains “The school has come a very long way since our last Ofsted inspection. Staff, governors, parents and pupils have all worked incredibly hard to ensure that our children have a high quality education that meets our children’s needs.”
The inspectors praised the achievements of the children, noting ”pupils achieve well by the time they leave the school” after their “excellent start to their education”. Children’s behaviour in class is described as “excellent”, and they are “encouraged to have a voice”.
We believe that the success of the school is down to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved. Our school vision is to inspire, challenge and succeed together – this shows how with the support of governors, parents, the local community, our MAT schools, and of course our staff and pupils, we really have ‘succeeded together’.
Ofsted were also impressed with the children’s understanding of other cultures, enhanced largely by our links with schools in Japan and Malawi. These international links have also fostered relationships with our local community, especially the local Rotary club who helped the school to build our own Japanese Garden and now regularly support the school in other ways.
They also praised our commitment to providing excellent sport and PE opportunities, saying, “the high emphasis on PE helps to keep pupils healthy”.
The school is the first of the Synergy Multi Academy Trust’s primary schools to be inspected by Ofsted.
